Sharding distributes the scan across multiple workers using zmap/masscan native sharding. Net Range splits by CIDR subnets.
Number of shards (work items). The server enforces a minimum of 16,384 (2ΒΉβ΄) IPs per shard β if your targets are smaller than shard count Γ 16,384, the count will be automatically reduced. For reference, a /0 with 1024 shards gives ~4M IPs/shard; a /16 with 1024 requested will be capped to 4 shards.
